Wright was a multimedia artist, musician, and producer. He ran the label d/a73 through which he released one of Susan’s earliest eps Tiny Grief. He also created sound works as 1000 Aeroplanes and remixed Almost February for Susan’s Motion.Silence.Echo. remix album. In recent years the pair had been working on a larger, community-based, mental health project named Until There Is Silence, which was due to be aired in both Wales and Nashville later this year.
“As I navigate the 7th anniversary of the breast cancer diagnosis that originally inspired this work, I’m now faced with the unexpected loss of one of my dearest friends, David Wright LaGrone.
I first met Wright online over 20 years ago and we quickly became friends and creative collaborators.
On 31st January 2026, Wright was involved in a serious car accident from which he didn’t recover. He passed away on 5th February.
The gift Wright gave to me was over twenty years of unconditional friendship. A friendship that never wavered, no matter what either of us were going through.
Thank you Wright, be safe out there, blessed be
… until there is silence my friend …”
